Cycling in Nashville just became easier, safer, and a lot more accessable. The new bicycle map system designed by Bob Firth at Informing Design highlights what is so hard to find in so many cities: the best route.
All cities have "low-traffic streets that are conducive to easy, comfortable cycling". The Groove highlights these safe neighborhood areas and interconnects them - bringing the best route to the forfront.

"The Groove makes it possible for cyclists of all skill levels to comfortably bike to and from parks, schools, workplaces, attractions and business districts."
Before this map, these secret cut-throughs and loops were only known by the pavement pounding die-hards. The Groove effectively breaks the code for biking in Nashville. For the first time, anyone can find a route in Nashville.
So next time you hear someone say, "you can't bike in Nashville." You'll have a response, "Yes you can. Get in the Groove!"
Groove maps will be available at all local bicycle shops in June. Online version available here.
The groove was created with the support of the Mayor's Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC), and is being distributed by the Nashville Bicycle Alliance and Walk Bike Nashville.
